Firelands Electric Cooperative serves more than 9,300 member-consumers throughout rural areas of Ashland, Huron, Lorain, and Richland counties. The co-op’s service territory is composed of nine districts, each of which is represented by a member who is elected to serve on the board of trustees that governs the operations of Firelands Electric Cooperative. Each candidate has submitted a valid petition signed by members living within their respective cooperative district.

The cooperative’s trustee elections will take place from Monday, March 2, 2026, through Sunday, April 12, 2026. Firelands Electric Cooperative members have two convenient ways to vote for trustee candidates who will represent board districts 1, 3, and 6. Elections will be conducted by mail and online ballot. The online ballot includes candidate information and video introductions.

Elections will be conducted by mail and online ballot. Coop Ballot/E Space Coummunications, an independent service provider, will manage the election by printing and mailing ballots, overseeing the online voting portal, and receiving and tallying all votes. All votes must be received by 11:59 p.m. on April 12, 2026.

Members may vote for one (1) trustee candidate in EACH district, and may only submit one (1) ballot per member. You will also be voting on the 2025 Annual Meeting Minutes approval. The Minutes can be viewed here. If more than one ballot is submitted, or more than one voting method is used, the first ballot received by the independent service provider will be considered final.
